NSS Unit of KCEGTROADASR organised a number of activities under “Swachhata Hi Sewa: Swachhta Abhiyaan” which included Extension Lecture on Harmful Effects of Plastic Usage, Seminar on Waste Management, Cleanliness Drive and Swachhta Pledge, Debate on the topic ‘Save the Environment’ and Poster Making as well as Slogan Writing Competition on “Swachhta Hi Sewa” theme under the able guidance of Principal of the college Dr. Harpreet Kaur.. While addressing the NSS Volunteers during different activities, Dr. Harpreet Kaur explained about the harmful effects of plastic usage, the importance of keeping the environment clean and green as well as the effective ways of waste management which also included 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to minimize the negative impact of waste on the environment and human health..
Further, she added that by adopting eco-friendly waste management practices, communities and industries can contribute to a cleaner, healthier planet and a more sustainable future.. Students were apprised of various government rules related to waste management.. About 200 students participated in various activities.. Dr. Harpreet Kaur appreciated the joint efforts of the Program Officer, Dr. Satinder Dhillon and other Staff members of the college for organizing the various activities successfully..
