S. Satyajit Singh Majithia

It is an honour and privilege to present before you the personality of S. Satyajit Singh Majithia, President, Khalsa College Governing Council, Amritsar. He is son of legendary S. Surjit Singh Ji Majithia and Grandson of S. B. Sir Sunder Singh Majithia who has to his credit the distinction of being the Founder of iconic Khalsa College Amritsar and other paramount institutions. Sardar Satyajit Singh Majithia Ji is himself a dedicated and committed personality with phenomenal contribution to society in the field of education, social work, economic and industrial growth.

He started his education from the Sacred Heart School in Amritsar and in 1944 joined the Aitchison College Lahore also known as the Chiefs College Lahore, where his father and Grandfather had passed out from, in the school division. When Lahore went to Pakistan in the Countries partition, he joined Welham School and then The Doon School in Dehra Dun from where he did his Inter Science. From there he went to Loughborough College of Technology in Leicestershire, UK for two years

He learnt to fly Aero-planes from the Delhi Flying Club, Northern India Flying Club and The Hindustan Aviation Club and earned his Private Pilots and Commercial Pilots License and became a Commercial Pilot. He started flying executive Aircraft providing Air Taxi and Air Ambulance services by establishing Saraya Aviation Private Limited of which he became the Chairman and Managing Director. He was given charge of the family Engineering Company called Saraya Engineering Works making Sugar Mill Machinery and
Self-Priming Pumps, which he converted a loss making company into a profitable one. He then rose to be the Chairman and Managing Director of Saraya Industries which owned two Sugar Mills and one Distillery. He was also the Chairman of Saraya Renewal Energy Private Limited running a Power plant producing Electricity and supplying to the National Grid from Agriculture waste.

He is the Chairman of Lady Prasan Kaur Charitable Trust and General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Trust. He was the President of the East UP Sugar Mills Association and the President of UP Distilleries Association for many years. He was an active member Of the Indian Sugar Mills association, All India Distillers Association and the member of the Aero Club of India.

Sardar Satyajit Singh Majithia Ji took over as President of Khalsa College Charitable Society in 2004. Prior to this, he was Chancellor of Khalsa College Governing Council during 2001-2004. As President of Khalsa College Charitable Society, he has taken the Khalsa Institutes to new heights of glory. Today, under his dynamic leadership, Khalsa College Charitable Society is successfully running 19 institutions including Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Khalsa College of Nursing, Khalsa College of Engineering & Technology, Khalsa
College of Law, Khalsa College of Education and also College of Veterinary Sciences. He is indubitably fulfilling the dreams of his forefathers in making Khalsa College a beacon of light in the field of education.

He has to his credit the following outstanding achievements:

Sardar Satyajit Singh Majithia Ji belongs to a family that has dedicated itself to the cause of Society. His ancestors have served this College for more than 75 years in different capacities. S. Satyajit Singh Majithia is presently the President of the Khalsa College
Governing Council, Amritsar. He is kind hearted, affectionate, God fearing and is gifted with a sweet temperament. It is his this attitude of self-abnegation that has made him all loving.
He has a fondness and love for rendering selfless service. His daughter Sardarni Harsimrat Kaur Badal served as Union Minister and son-inlaw Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal had been Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, while his son Bikram Singh Majithia was Minister in Punjab Government
